3S Auctions Update + Frequently Asked Questions

Post by d1g1t »

The feature mentioned in https://www.delugerpg.net/viewtopic.php?t=30791 is now available at https://www.delugerpg.com/auctions !
  • What is a 3S auction?
It's a new feature where pokemon with three stats (3S Pokemon) can be auctioned for pokemon with Exp. These auctions will have a time limit and the player with the highest bid at the end of the auction will receive the auctioned pokemon.
  • Will only 3S Pokemon be auctioned?
    Yes.
  • Can players start their own auctions?
Not for now. When it is made available to everyone, you will see a button on the auctions page.
  • Can only Exp be offered?
Yes, this is strictly for offering Exp for pokemon with three stats.
As explained in my earlier post, the intention here is to reduce 'exp prices' of such pokemon. This is not a 3S giveaway/distribution program.
  • What's the minimum exp that can be included in bids?
At this time only pokemon that have 5mil exp or more on them can be bid in auctions
  • Can I include 3S Pokemon in my bid?
The game will warn you not to do that, but it will not stop you. You should listen to it. The auction only considers the pokemon's exp. What stats it has, and whether it's a legendary pokemon etc is ignored.
  • I don't have high exp to participate! What about me?!
You can still catch any pokemon you desire on the maps.
  • Are these exclusive pokemon?!
No. Copies of the same pokemon may be auctioned many times over.
  • What determines if a pokemon will be auctioned again?
If I feel an auction ended with too high a bid, I may auction a copy of the same pokemon.
  • But that will make the pokemon less valuable/less rare!!!
For over a decade, the pokedex page has explicitly instructed users to not use the number of pokemon in-game as a proxy for rarity or value.
And auctions do not make any pokemon 'less rare'. Their spawn rates remain the same.
  • What's the blue badge next to the auctions
It simply means that the auction is conducted by the Admin. Once players are allowed to start auctioning their own pokemon, this symbol will not show up next to their auctions.
  • Are these pokemon untradeable like event pokemon?
No, these are regular pokemon. The winners of auctions can do anything they wish with these pokemon including evolving them, trading them or releasing them.
  • What if someone wins an auction and demands much more for it in exp?
I will be monitoring the winning bids and if they seem too high to me, I may auction another copy of the same pokemon.
  • What about the forum section you said you would create where people could request auctions?
Now I'm not entirely sure about that. When I asked something similar on the Community Chat, people flooded me with requests of the pokemon they wished for, rather than listing pokemon they were having trouble trading for exp or pokemon whose 'prices' had gone up due to the dreaded fees. I may still create the forum section, but after the excitement has died down a bit. I will be auctioning random pokemon until then.
UPDATE: It has been opened at https://www.delugerpg.net/viewforum.php?f=40
  • Speaking of which! Will trade fees be removed now?
    Nope.
  • Do trade fees apply to auctions?
Yes. It is visible when you make a bid.
  • Can I take back my bid?
    No.
  • The auction I am stalking disappeared from the list!!
Once the auction is a few seconds away from it's closing time, it will stop appearing on the main page. If you are already on the bid page, you will have a handful seconds to finish bidding.
It may take upto 10 minutes after the closing time for the auction to fully resolve.
As this is not a website dedicated to auctions, and to avoid certain design patterns that make auctions addictive, I've made things relatively slow paced and decided to not include down to the second countdown timers.
  • What is the maximum I can bid
You can offer upto 100 pokemon in a single bid and a maximum of 2.5bil exp (after fees)
  • What happens to all the exp bid on auctions created by the Admin?
The pokemon will simply be released. And no, they will not be given away.
  • What if a player wins an auction and then tries to trade the same pokemon for a billion trillion exp?
People have always asked for a magic list of exp values for pokemon. The winning bids of the most recent closed auctions of the specific pokemon can be used as a 'maximum price', since it was made available to everyone in the game and that was the best 'offer' it received. This is the closest you can get to the magic list.

    ==Auction Starter FAQ==
This is for after starting Auctions is available to regular players. Until then, the ability to start auctions is only available to the Admin account.
  • How do I set the minimum starting bid?
You will have to make your own bid when creating the auction. This will be considered the starting bid. The minimum possible is 5.75mil Exp (6Mil exp pokemon minus 250k fees).
The fees will only be applied if nobody bids on the pokemon. This prevents players from creating troll auctions that nobody will bid on, just to show off pokemon on the auction page.
Once anyone bids on your auction, the pokemon in your starting bid will return to your box without any fee deduction.
  • Can I choose the length of the auction?
Yes. You will be allowed to choose between 1 and 7 days
  • I only want pokemon with 10M exp or more!!
The current limit is at 5M. I may add an option to set that to 10M when auctions are created. Of course, the auctioneer's starting bid will also have to meet that condition.
  • Can I cancel my auction? or end it early?
    Sorry, you cannot
  • What happens if the account that started the auction or the account that made the highest bid is banned?
In such a circumstance, the auction will fail to resolve and both the auction pokemon and the starting bid will return to the box without any fees being deducted.
