Minor Game Update / Upcoming Changes: Trade Tax

Post by d1g1t »

Exp Eraser
A new feature called the Exp Eraser has been added. This will allow you remove exp with precision from your Pokemon.
This should be much simpler than planning out your battles with the Exp Calculator.
Each exp will cost one coin to erase. And you can erase as much exp as you like as long as the Pokemon's level does not change.

This has been added as a sort of hidden feature under the Misc Menu. Enabling the Exp Eraser will cause the Eraser to appear on the Your Pokemon page until you log out or turn it off.

This feature allows me to remove the rounding off feature from Trade Tax and give users ways to receive varying/bonus exp in the future.

Upcoming Changes: Trade Tax
In addition to the rounding off feature being removed, I wish to make quite a few changes to Trade Tax.
The major ones being inclusion of 10m exp and lower exp pokemon in the taxation. And replacing all the brackets with a flat and low rate of something like 5% instead of the current 10/20/30 progressive system.
The numbers have not been finalized. This post is just a heads up for those hoarding 10m exp pokemon to avoid the current system.

A quick clarification for those panicking about the tax changes.

For those not aware, the tax was added as a means to keep 'exp price' inflation in check. Without such a mechanism, 'exp prices' keep going up uncontrollably.
The tax did serve it's purpose at the time, and I did mention that something would be done about all the exp trade moving to 10m pokemon (or 'untaxed' exp as some people call it).
If that is where you're going to store all the exp, that is what needs to be handled. The rate is also going down from as high as 30% currently to 5% and under.

A secondary purpose of this is make things more annoying for 'middleman' users. These are users who do not actually 'play' the game. They don't hunt pokemon, they don't train pokemon.
They only trade exp and raise prices of their pokemon, and lower the prices of pokemon they want, simply by sitting in various discord servers pretending to be experts of exp valuation giving advice to newbies and fools.
If you have been asking other people about exp values of triple stat pokemon, you are very likely a victim of this. This tax on 10m pokemon is bad for them, so they will tell you it's a terrible update that's coming.
While the tax rate will be around 5%, I can guarantee that they will raise their prices, and lower your pokemon's worth, by much more than 5% before and then again after the update.
