How does Pokemon speed work?

Post by OMEGALUL »

I know that if you have +spe and the enemy doesn't you will always go first, but if you both have +spe, how is it calculated who goes first? Is it purely random, or are there Pokemon with higher speed levels (maybe legendary)?

When if you both are having +spe both will attack at the same time, it depends on the type and attack you choose, if your pokemon is still in battle and your opponent took a new one with +spe or any stats or no stats, you will get chance to attack first

It's random, slightly favouring the higher level pokemon if there is a level difference.

Ok thanks, it felt like I was always losing to Ash's Greninja with +spe, so I must have been unlucky since my Pokemon was level 100 with +spe. I guess it isn't viable to train against ultimate trainers anymore because half or more of their Pokemon always have +spe.
