"Legends" and "Starters and Their Evolutions" PokéDex

Post by Detective Pikachu » Tue Nov 05, 2019 7:28 am

If I only catch or collect Legends Pokémon (e.g. Legendary, Mythical, Ultra Beast) and Starters and Their Evolutions (From Gen I to Gen VII), what will be the percentage that I'll have on my PokéDex Completion?

i am only guessing.. but it's worth a shot..

there are around 89 legendaries in game, plus all the classes, so it's multiplied by 10 . then you have around 71 starters with a x10 for the class too.. so for the legendaries, u would have around 890 if you collected each class, and 710 for the starters. add them up and it's 1600..

from the percentage i have for my pokedex, 4,957 uniques is up to 57% done. so estimating with the 1600, your pokedex would probally be somewhere around 15-20%

this is just an estimate however... but it seems likely..

Btw, thanks for your infos. :)

I got an idea or hint from your "guessing" or estimation-process. Yes, you're right on having 89 Legends are there as of now. But, based on my calculation, there are only 70 (as of now) Starters and Their Evolutions.

*** Computed mathematically and logically ***
  • If we add 89 and 70, then we have
    89 + 70 = 159 Unique Pokémon
  • Note that there are 10 Pokémon Classes (Normal, Shiny, Metallic, etc.), and that is multiplied by 10.
    159 × 10 = 1,590 Unique Pokémon
  • As of now, there are 8,590 (in total) Unique Pokémon. To get the percentage, we have only to divide 1,590 by 8,590, then multiply it by 100; As what follows,
    1,590 ÷ 8,590 (1,590/ 8,590) = 0.186099
    0.186099 × 100 = 18.61%
[If I'm not mistaken that would be in 2 decimal places.]
Therefore, if we will only collect Legends and Starters and Their Evolutions (as of now), then we'll have only 18.61% on our PokéDex Completion. (That's pretty smaller than 20%!!! 😱)
