The Synchronizing Pokemon
  • This is a fan fiction based off of my roleplay character whom I stole the name of for my username. It isn't necessarily my best work, but I'm hoping to make it better as time goes on. For now, I have the prologue written. Yay! Note that this is a general spin off of the usual Pokemon Saga, only due to being set to start in Johto. I won't be writing many Pokemon Battles out either, though some I will. Anyway... Here it goes!

    Prologue: Origins Unknown

A girl fled through the forest faster then one could shake a stick, crying desperately in an attempt to escape. A large group of people, some men and some women, were chasing after her, all wearing that same uniform of black and gray with the golden letter 'G' on the torso. One man looked slightly different then the others, controlling them from the back of the group. He was the one ordering the chase- and the small girl, about five years of age in appearance, hadn't an idea why.

As she screamed, a male of older porportions than she walked over and saw her. Walking over to her, he saw the chase and got in between her and the large group. “Leave this little girl alone!” For a while, there was a strong tension until the man managed to drive away the group of goons. The leader had noted one sentence of threat before fleeing. The man that remained, the one who had kept her safe, looked at the girl curiously. “You're alright now, you don't have to be afraid.”

Though she heard the words, she didn't fully accept them as she cowered into a ball. Frowning, the man saw she was injured and picked her up against her will. As she kicked and tried to get him to leave her, he just continued to carry her to the gym in which he worked. He took care of her wounds, and tried to calm her. He was the first human after that whom the little girl managed to trust.

  • Chapter One: A New Friend and Partner

It'd been ten years since the day in Ilex Forest that she'd been saved. She went to the school in Violet City and graduated, and she'd managed to make friends over the years. Most of her time was now spent either helping her “father”, or rather, the man that had saved her that day, at the gym. That was done either doing some housework in the gym or doing errands outside. That day, like many before it, was outside.

She wasn't in Azalea Town for the time being. Having left three days before, Hiruka was now in New Bark Town visiting the Professor to make a quick delivery of a letter. Professor Elm looked at the letter with pure interest, putting it on a desk when he finished. “Thank goodness he got my message. Sorry to hear the phones aren't too good again.”

“Our luck with phones seems to be naturally bad in this family! My Pokegear just finally got out of the shop for the fifth time this quarter.” The girl laughed, green hair moving slightly to tickle her face. “Anyway, Dad also said you had an errand for me, right, Professor?”

“Yes, indeed I do. You know where Cherrygrove City is, right?”

“Of course. I pass through there whenever I come to visit from Azalea.”

“Right. Well, I have a friend who lives in a house just past Cherrygrove City. He called me earlier today saying he had something I had to see, but I need to finish some of my research. Would you be able to go in my place?”

“Sure- I don't mind. I'll call Dad to let him know I'll be a bit later then normal.” She let off a small smile.
“Thank you very much, Hiruka. Also, that wasn't my original request for you.”

“Oh- then what was it?” The girl seemed confused, as she often was. The man pointed toward a set of three pokeballs.

“I'm trying to figure out how a Pokemon's bond with a person can affect their growth. I have three Pokemon there- I was hoping you could take one of them with you and raise it on your own. I want to see the way that a bond you create with it will affect it over time.”

“Huh? Um, sure! I don't mind! I'll make sure to treat it the best I can!” She smiled. The Professor laughed.

“I have no doubt about that. Boy, you really are your father's daughter the way you excite. Anyway... Go ahead and choose.”

Hiruka walked ot the set of balls and looked at each explanation carefully. Chikorita, a grass type. Totodile, a water type. Cyndaquil, a fire type. She looked at the Professor curiously for a moment, but simply smiled and took the ball with Chikorita in it. “I'll take Chikorita, then. Thank you, Professor!” However, not long after that, a boy with dark hair ran in, panting.

“Professor! My mom asked me to come here for you?” It was someone Hiruka recognized- a friend from school. “Oh! Hiruka. You doing an errand?”

“Yep! Seems you are too, huh, Ethan?” She smiled easily, waving hello. The Professor soon explained to the boy a similar thing he had to Hiruka.

“Hiruka took Chikorita, huh? Not surprised.” He stared at the Pokeballs with curiosity. “I'd like to take Cyndaquil please.” He took the Pokeball and smiled. After a quick continual conversation between the three, the similarly aged boy and girl left the lab. Ethan looked to Hiruka. “Heading home?”

“Actually, I was asked by Professor Elm to go to his friend's place past Cherrygrove. What about you, Ethan?”

“Mind if I join you? It'd be easier to get to grow with a Pokemon if we travel for a bit, and either way I was planning on starting a trip soon. I'm tired of hanging out at home so much.”

“Sure. Just tell your mom, 'kay? Then we'll head off!”

“Got it. Wait for me at the town exit, Hiruka. See ya in a bit!” Ethan ran off, and Hiruka struggled to keep from laughing. She soon went to the route between New Bark and Cherrygrove to wait.
